This year we celebrated our 4th straight year of making it onto the Inc. 5000 list of the fastest growing companies in America. Only one in 10 companies on the list have been recognized four times or more. There’s fire in our belly at Jobs2Careers, and we’ve really just begun.  

A few years ago, I was speaking to an industry CEO and he congratulated the Jobs2Careers team on making the list. It was our inaugural year. I was appreciative of the recognition, but I said, “Thank you, but you know it’s harder from here.” He chuckled…and said, “you know, you’re right.”  But, you know what? I learned it may get harder, but it also gets more exciting every day. That’s assuming one important factor—without it, alignment suffers, growth waivers, stagnation begins. That factor is talent.

Talent makes all the difference. When I joined Jobs2Careers in 2013 we had 11 employees.  Four years later, we’re a team of 80. But we’re not a company that focuses on headcount as a metric of success; we focus on the contributions of each team member. Hiring the right talent to help accomplish our initiatives is one of the reasons we’ve been able to grow Jobs2Careers profitably and bootstrap 100% of our growth.   

Hiring the right talent helps companies grow by ensuring execution and strategy reactions based on trends—and, more importantly, customer feedback. Talent is the lifeblood of a business. We like to think of Jobs2Careers as a platform to attract the talent companies need to grow. Aggregation is a job seeker feature, not a talent attraction tool. The practice and art of attracting talent has been occurring for years.

Today, talent attraction is a science driven by data—job advertising is the medium. We’re happy to be one of the bright spots as recruitment efficiency continues evolves and job seeker behavior changes.
